Our goal is to produce puppies with excellent temperaments and who are extremely well-socialized while also conforming to the standards
and not to mention cute as can be
Our objective as a responsible hobby breeder is to carefully plan our litters with the primary goal of producing extremely high quality puppies
We know there is nothing cuter on the face of the Earth
THAN A PUPPY
HOW CUTE ARE THEY?
Yorkshire Terrier Breed Standard
General Appearance
That of a long-haired toy terrier whose blue and tan coat is
parted on the face and from the base of the skull to the end of
the tail and hangs evenly and quite straight down each side of
body. The body is neat, compact and well proportioned. The dog's high head carriage and confident manner should give the
appearance of vigor and self-importance.
Head
Small and rather flat on top, the skull not too prominent or round, the muzzle not too long, with the bite neither undershot nor
overshot and teeth sound. Either scissors bite or level bite is acceptable. The nose is black. Eyes are medium in size and not
too prominent; dark in color and sparkling with a sharp, intelligent expression. Eye rims are dark. Ears are small, V-shaped, carried erect and set not too far apart.
Body
Well proportioned and very compact. The back is rather short,
the back line level, with height at shoulder the same as at the
rump.
Legs and Feet
Forelegs should be straight, elbows neither in nor out. Hind legs straight when viewed from behind, but stifles are moderately
bent when viewed from the sides. Feet are round with black
toenails. Dewclaws, if any, are generally removed from the hind
legs. Dewclaws on the forelegs may be removed.
Tail
Docked to a medium length and carried slightly higher than the
level of the back.
Coat
Quality, texture and quantity of coat are of prime importance. Hair is glossy, fine and silky in texture. Coat on the body is moderately long and perfectly straight (not wavy). It may be trimmed to floor length to give ease of movement and a neater appearance, if
desired. The fall on the head is long, tied with one bow in center
of head or parted in the middle and tied with two bows. Hair on
muzzle is very long. Hair should be trimmed short on tips of ears
and may be trimmed on feet to give them a neat appearance.
Colors
Puppies are born black and tan and are normally darker in body
color, showing an intermingling of black hair in the tan until they
are matured. Color of hair on body and richness of tan on head
and legs are of prime importance in adult dogs, to which the
following color requirements apply:
Blue: Is a dark steel-blue, not a silver-blue and not mingled with fawn, bronzy or black hairs.
Tan: All tan hair is darker at the roots than in the middle,
shading to still lighter tan at the tips. There should be no sooty
or black hair intermingled with any of the tan.
Color on Body
The blue extends over the body from back of neck to root of tail. Hair on tail is a darker blue, especially at end of tail.
Headfall
A rich golden tan, deeper in color at sides of head, at ear roots
and on the muzzle, with ears a deep rich tan. Tan color should not extend down on back of neck.
Chest and Legs
A bright, rich tan, not extending above the elbow on the forelegs
nor above the stifle on the hind legs.
Weight
Must not exceed seven pounds.

This chart is a guide to estimate what the adult weight of a Yorkie puppy might be. There are many factors that will affect the final size of your Yorkie puppy.
This chart is only a guide to help estimate puppy's adult weight and it is not 100% accurate.
TO MAINTAIN A WELL GROOMED YORKIE YOU MUST FIRST START WITH THE BASICS
USE A MONTHLY FLEA AND TIC PREVENTION PRODUCT
HAVE A REULAR GROOMING SCHEDULE
WEEKLY OR BI-WEEKLY BATHS
DAILY BRUSHING
TRIM COAT MONTHLY
LOOK UNDER ITEMS NEEDED FOR YOUR PUPPY
TO FIND A LIST OF PRODUCTS
I USE AND RECOMMEND
FIRST DETANGLE YOUR PUPPY
GENTLY USE YOUR FINGERS TO GET OUT AS MUCH OF THE TANGLES AS YOU CAN
NEVER BRUSH A YORKIES COAT WHILE IT IS DRY
IT BREAKS THE HAIR
AT LEAST MAKE SURE IT IS DAMP
IF YOUR PUPPY GETS MATTED
YOU MAY WANT TO USE A MAT RAKE FIRST
AFTER THE TANGLES AND MATS ARE OUT
THEN PROCEED WITH THE BRUSHING
(BRISTLE IS WHAT I PREFER)
FINISH BY USING A FINE TOOTH COMB
REMEMBER START BRUSHING FROM THE BOTTOM UP
DON'T FORGET TO BRUSH
UNDER THE ARMS, LEGS AND BEHIND THE EARS
NEVER USE A BRUSH ON THE PUPPIES FACE
FOR FEAR OF DAMAGING HIS EYES
A GOOD BRUSHING DAILY IS ESSENTIAL
IT HELPS REDUCE MATTING AND DEBRIS FROM
COLLECTING AND GATHERING IN THE COAT
WHICH CAN LEAD TO SKIN IRRITATION
IT ALSO DISTRIBUTES THE OILS IN THE COAT
FOR THAT NICE SHINNY LOOK
BRUSHING
BATHING
FIRST PLACE THE COTTON BALLS IN YOUR YORKIE'S EARS
THIS WILL PREVENT WATER FROM ENTERING THE EAR
AND CAUSING EAR PROBLEMS OR INFECTIONS
THEN ONE DROP OF MINERAL OIL IN EACH EYE
THIS WILL HELP KEEP THEM FROM GETTING IRRITATED
FROM THE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER
NOW YOU ARE READY TO BATHE YOUR YORKIE
PLACING HIM ON A TOWEL OR A MAT
WILL HELP HIM FROM SLIPPING AND FALLING
THE ACTUAL BATH
THOROUGHLY WET DOWN YOUR YORKIE WITH WARM WATER
APPLY THE SHAMPOO AT THE BACK OF HIS NECK AND
LATHER HIM UP WORKING IN SMALL GENTLE STROKES
START AT THE NECK, GO DOWN HIS BACK, TO HIS TAIL
THEN DO HIS UNDERSIDE
THOUROUGHLY RINSE THE PUPPY
POURING THE WATER IN THE DIRECTION
THAT THE COAT NATURALLY FALLS
REMEMBER TO RINSE THE UNDER SIDE
NOW FOR THE FACE
LATHER UP SOME TEARLESS SHAMPOO IN THE PALM OF YOUR HANDS AND GENTLE WORK AROUND HIS
EYES, EARS AND MUZZLE
TAKING CAUTION NOT TO GET WATER IN EARS AND EYES
RINSE HIM COMPLETELY
NOW REMOVE ANY EYE MUCUS THAT
WAS NOT WASHED AWAY
SIMPLY USE A WASHCLOTH OR A COTTONBALL
IF ANYTHING REMAINS TANGLED IN HIS COAT
YOU MAY NEED TO USE A FINE TOOTH COAT
BUT PAY PARTICULAR ATTENTION NOT TO HARM
YOUR YORKIE'S EYES
IF YOUR DOGGIE SHAMPOO DOES NOT HAVE A CONDITIONER IN IT YOU SHOULD CONSIDER USING ONE APPLY ACCORDING TO THE DIRECTIONS AND RINSE YOUR YORKIE THOROUGHLY
DRYING
FIRST TOWEL DRY WITH A FLUFFY ABSORBENT TOWEL
COMB OUT YOUR YORKIE'S COAT
FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS UNDER BRUSHING
IF YOU WANT THAT SLEEK STRAIGHT SHOW COAT
THIS IS WHERE BLOWING DRYING HELPS TO
ACQUIRE THAT
ALWAYS USE YOUR DRYER ON A LOW SETTING
SOMETIMES IT WILL TAKE A PUPPY A WHILE TO GET ACCUSTOMED TO A DRYER
BEGIN DRYING THE BACK AREA WORKING TOWARDS
THE FRONT, GENTLY COMBING THROUGH THE HAIR
WITH YOUR FINGERS
REMEMBER TO DO THE UNDEDSIDE, BEHIND THE EARS
AND UNDER THE TAIL
AFTER YOUR YORKIE IS DRY
BRUSH THE COAT ONE MORE TIME
NOW IT IS TIME FOR THE FINISH PRODUCT
THE ADORABLE LITTLE BOW ON TOP OF THE HEAD
THAT YORKIES ARE SO FAMOUSLY KNOWN FOR
THE BOW
THE PONY TAIL ON THE TOP OF A YORKIE'S HEAD
IS CALLED A TOP KNOT
GATHERING THE YORKIE'S HAIR AND PLACING IT IN A BOW IS NOT JUST TO MAKE THE YORKIE CUTE AND ADORABLE
IT HELPS KEEP THE YORKIE'S HAIR OUT OF THEIR EYES WHICH ENABLES THEM TO SEE MUCH CLEARER
AND IT ALSO HELPS IN PREVENTING EYE DAMAGE
FROM THE HAIR SCRATCHING THE RETINA
THE TOP KNOT IS CREATED BY GATHERING
THE HAIR FROM THE OTHER CORNERS OF THE EYES
AND PARTING IT UP TO THE MIDDLE OF THE EARS
ON THE TOP OF THE HEAD
THEN GATHER THE HAIR AND PLACE A
LAYTEX BAND AROUND THE BASE AND ADD A BOW
NOW YOU HAVE A BEAUTIFULLY GROOMED YORKIE
THE SHOW TOP KNOT IS CREATED THE SAME WAY
BUT THEY ADD A POOF TO THE FRONT OF THE HEAD
AND THEY FOLD OVER THE KNOT TO FORM A BUN
PERSONALLY I THINK THE LITTLE TAIL ON THE HEAD
WITH A BOW IS JUST THE CUTIEST THING EVER
TRIMMING THE COAT
EVEN IF YOU CHOOSE TO HAVE YOUR YORKIE PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED THEIR ARE TIMES
YOU WILL NEED TO TRIM SOMETHING
SO AT LEAST GET COMFORTABLE WITH
DOING A LITTLE TRIMMING
THE EASIEST PLACE TO START LEARNING IS
WITH TRIMMING THE PAWS AND PADS
PAW PADS
FOR THE BOTTOM OF THE PADS USE A SHARP PAIR OF SCISSORS AND CUT AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO THE PAW
FOR ME THIS WORKS BEST WHEN SOMEONE HOLDS THE PUPPY UP MAKES ACCESS TO ALL PAWS VERY EASY
NO NEED TO BE FUSSY YOU WILL GET THE HANG OF IT AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS
SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO USE A TRIMMER
IT IS JUST A MATTER OF PERSONAL PREFERRENCE
THE TRIMMER CAN BE MUCH FASTER
PAWS
JUST STAND YOUR YORKIE ON A TABLE OR COUNTER TOP
AND TRIM IN A CIRCULAR MANNER AROUND THE PAW
AGAIN CHOICE OF SICSSORS OR TRIMMER IS TOTALLY UP TO YOU AND YOUR YORKIE
THE COAT
FOR THE SAKE OF ACCURATECY AND NOT TO MENTION TIME I WILL POST A LINK THAT GOES INTO GREAT DETAILS
SHE IS ALWAYS LOOKING FOR ATTENTION. DOING TRICKS AND JUMPING INTO OUR LAPS. SHE LOVES TO GIVE KISSES TO EVERYONE SHE MEETS. ALWAYS OUTGOING AND HAPPY TO MEET NEW FRIENDS WHETHER CANINE OR HUMAN
